We are proud to announce that Janey Godley was named as the overall winner of the NIVEA Funny Women Fringe Award 2008.

The Category Winners

The best across three categories have now been selected to perform at the Awards Ceremony tonight at the Pleasance Dome at 11.30 p.m. for a chance of winning the overall £1,000 cash prize.  Each category winner receives an exclusive spa treat courtesy of NIVEA:

• Best stand-up, individual act – Janey Godley for her show ‘Domestic Godley’ at the Pleasance Dome
• Best sketch, character or theatrical show – ‘The Angry Puppy’, an all female sketch show at The Stand
• Best newcomer – Pippa Evans who is performing her first Fringe show, ‘Pippa Evans and Other Lonely People’ at the Pleasance Courtyard.

The Nominations

The 2008 Nominations for the NIVEA Funny Women Fringe Award have been announced.  These acts will now be invited to perform in three showcases at the Pleasance Dome on the 8th, 9th and 10th August.  Congratulations to all comics and shows.
